Trane Extended Warranty

Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty
Trane manufacturer’s
limited warranty on parts is available anywhere. But
parts are only part of a service call. Your Manufacfurer’s
Limited Warranty does not cover local transportation,
related service labor diagnosis calls, refrigerant and
related items.

Mechanical Components Fail
Trane is recognized as a world-wide leader in the
manufacturing of quality air conditioning and heating
products and accessories. Millions of dollars have
been invested in laboratory stress tests which allow
Trane engineers to design units with minimum failures.
However
any mechanical product is subject to failure

Hedge Against Inflation
Today’s service calls that result in repair bills are
expensive. Each year parts and labor costs continue to
rise. At today’s prices, one service call to replace a minor
part can easily cost $100.00 or more. Imagine what these
costs will be five or ten vears from now. With Trane’s
Optional Extended Warranty you will know your
cost for total comfort- up to ten years in advance.

Peace of Mind
When you purchase a Trane Optional Extended
Warranty agreement, you don’t have to worry about
failures.* Unplanned repair bills will be a thing of
the past. For the term of your agreement
Trane
pays the bills.

What does Trane Optional extended warranty exclude?

  • Any routine maintenance. Various items may need to be replaced on a regular basis in order to keep equipment in top operating condition. While we recommend regular equipment maintenance, the extended warranty contract will not provide coverage for items subject to normal wear and tear, or otherwise replaced as a matter of practice during routine maintenance procedures by the Servicer. In the event that an equipment component failure is discovered during the performance of routine maintenance procedures, reimbursement for the part and labor may be provided subject to contract guidelines. However, repairs performed during routine maintenance

are not entitled to reimbursement for

    diagnostic or travel time.

  • Air filters, drain lines, condensate pumps,

    refrigerant lines, ducts, electrical wiring

external of the equipment, or any other

equipment not listed as a covered item

    on the Optional Extended Warranty

    Agreement.

  • Repairs to correct failures or malfunctions

    that are not considered manufacturing

defects, such as damage or malfunctions

    resulting from fire, water, storms,

    earthquake, faulty power supply, theft,

riot, misuse, abuse, or the improper

selection, installation, or application of the

    equipment.

[Trane requires that routine maintenance

be performed as recommended in

the owner's manual to insure proper

performance of the equipment. Repairs

that are required due to lack of routine

maintenance are not covered by the

Trane Optional Extended Warranty.

Your dealer can provide routine

maintenance which not only satisfies

this condition of your Optional

Extended Warranty, but assures peak

efficiency and safe operation of your

equipment]

  • Any failure or malfunction caused by the

failure of the Equipment Owner to perform

    preventative maintenance as recommended

    by the manufacturer.

  • Repairs to alter the equipment to meet

changes in Federal, state, or local codes

    or regulations.

  • Premium labor charges charged by the

Servicer for repairs which are required

during other than normal working hours.

  • Any freight on parts.

    installed in establishments with corrosive

atmospheres such as dry cleaners, beauty

    shops, printing facilities, etc.

  • Failures or malfunctions on compressor

bearing equipment in which the age of the

    equipment exceeds ten (10) years.

What is covered?

As a rule of thumb . . . any failure of an internal component on a covered piece of

equipment is covered, unless it fails due to neglect, failure of the Equipment Owner to

perform preventive maintenance, or an act of God.
